A young and highly experienced new paid search specialist has joined DigitalKOG to support our Head of Paid in leading Google Ads, Bing Ads and YouTube campaigns for our client range – Declan Porter.

Appointed to the role of PPC Manager, Declan arrives from Warrantywise in Blackburn, a trusted provider of extended car warranties, where he worked as a PPC Executive.

When he enrolled on a Level 3 Computing course at Burnley College after leaving school, Declan did so with his sights set on entering the Tech industry. However, just a few weeks into the course, he and his classmates were approached with an opportunity to do an apprenticeship in Digital Marketing, an opening that steered him towards the career path he finds himself on today.

Several local businesses were eager to take apprentices on and one of them was a small digital marketing agency called Fifty2One in Clitheroe. Following a successful interview process there, he accepted an apprenticeship position, beginning a two-year spell with the company, which gave him a solid foundation of practical digital-based skills.

He moved on to a different local agency, 21Digital, for the final year of his apprenticeship and upon its completion was offered a full-time position as a Junior PPC Executive. Within a year, he earned promotion to full PPC Executive status.

Over the five years he spent there, Declan got to work on a wide range of lead generation and e-commerce projects, acquiring a diverse set of capabilities, and thrived in the fast-paced agency environment.

Curious to know what working in-house would be like and to see if it aligned with his work ideals and lifestyle, Declan gained employment at Warrantywise. Within a couple of months he realised that it wasn’t a preferred fit, missing the busyness of agency life and variation of working on multiple client accounts, inspiring his return to reliving all of that as DigitalKOG’s latest LEADOLOGIST™.

Reverting back to an agency from being client-side is going even better than Declan hoped: “I’m four weeks into my time at DigitalKOG, and my experience has been brilliant so far.
