DigitalKOG’s in-house team of specialists is fast multiplying, with a new staff appointment made that strengthens our Creative department.
The second ‘Josh’ we have recruited in recent months, Josh Pickering (or Josh P as he’s called in the office to avoid any confusion!) is our latest Creative Designer and has extensive experience working in identity and branding across print and digital media.
About Josh
A Photography graduate at Blackpool and The Fylde College, who also studied at Cardinal Newman College, he spent eight years with his previous employer, CSI, a Signage Contractor.
While there, he delivered beautiful branding for a host of bars and restaurants, working closely with them to create a brand image that conveys their story.
Much of his professional output can be seen throughout the country, including eateries such as ‘The Wellington’ in Borehamwood. He managed the overall design / production of their new branding, signage, colour schemes, lighting and workwear.
On a freelance basis, he has provided a range of graphic design services, from product layout to rebranding, for many other clients and brands.
For him to now be supplying highly impactful and engaging designs for our broad client base is an exhilarating prospect.
Creative Director, Megan Robinson, is delighted to have landed someone of Josh’s talents: “Josh was the ideal candidate for the role – he displayed a proven ability to produce high level creative work teamed with a strong knowledge of interactive and digital design (and a great demeanour, of course!).
“Sometimes it is simple executions that make big statements, and we could see that Josh’s keen design-eye and established background in branding would be the perfect addition to a team where creative and marketing work together hand in hand.
“An abundance of opportunity awaits for Josh. He’s already proven his understanding of creative communication and I’m looking forward to seeing more ‘blue sky’ thinking in action as we collaborate. I’ve heard it said that confidence in your creatives/creative team makes confident creatives, and I believe that’s pivotal in delivering the very best, and most effective work output for our clients.
“I’m excited to work together, seeing Josh’s potential unfold and being challenged creatively as we inspire one another in our success.”
Josh’s first week was a busy one.
He made a trip to the NEC in Birmingham with some of the team to visit our client, FIT Show, the UK’s largest industry showcase for the window, door, flat glass and components market – we are the event’s Brand Development and Creative Partner.
As part of his onboarding, introductory meetings with all departmental areas were also held to get Josh attuned to everyone’s responsibilities and our way of working.
It’s made Josh already feel right at home:
“Leaving a company after such a lengthy spell can be a bit of a culture shock, but my new colleagues have really helped me settle in quickly.
“I’ve witnessed that each team member is committed to helping our clients reap the best possible results, and I’m similarly passionate about using my design work to motivate customer attraction for them.
“In this workplace, I’m certain I will optimise my existing skill set.”
