September 2024 marks a special milestone for PPC Manager, Declan Porter, his first full year of employment at DigitalKOG.

Time’s flown since we hired his expertise to assist Andrew, Head of Paid, in catapulting our paid advertising service for client partners.

An extremely personable team member who routinely demonstrates a razor-sharp eye for detail to amplify campaign strategies, Declan has been a revelation of a recruit.

He tells us how he got to where he is today and talks through the past 12 months.

About Me

I’m no stranger to marketing agencies having started out in my profession at Fifty2One in Clitheroe as an Apprentice, the perfect breeding ground to get to grips with campaign management principles.

That led to a five-year stint, initially as a Junior PPC Executive before being upgraded to a full PPC Executive, at 21Digital, which is when I really started to advance my learning and execution of multi-platform paid marketing.

A brief period working in-house for Warrantywise followed, but I craved a return to a fast-paced agency environment and here I am!

My Job

I work across multiple client accounts daily, making sure of the following:

– Monitoring performance tracking to ensure set goals and objectives are being accomplished.
– Overseeing account setups and managing them closely.
– Checking client accounts are consistent with requested product target splits.
– Regularly working on account updates so they are up to date with the latest offers and product changes.
– Testing out new strategies and targeting to engineer ongoing client success.
– Collaborating with our social team on the optimisation of full marketing spends.

Achievements

Although event promotion is entirely new to me, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the setup and continued management of the Google Ads accounts for the throng of high-profile showcases we support, like Surface Design Show and the International Food and Drink Exhibition.

We’ve recently implemented additional YouTube campaigns to enhance brand awareness of the shows, and the results generated thus far have been very promising.

Highlights

The diversity of client accounts keeps me challenged every day, which I relish, and it’s a buzz observing business growth from consistent monitoring and optimisation.

Our accelerated use of more first-party data gives us insights enabling us to map out potential business growth.

Future hopes

Very simply, I just want to further my existing expertise, building up my overall skill set and increasing my capabilities for personal development and so that I can heighten my contribution to the company.
