The Challenge

The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is a government-authorised Competent Person Scheme, responsible for representing and regulating window and door companies who install over 60% (by turnover) of all glazing work.

When the countrywide lockdown was enforced, all of its Member Companies were forced to cease home installations.

Faced with what seemed an impossible scenario; a global pandemic, an industry locked down and vague safety guidance, then suddenly there was word that the lockdown was to be eased in a matter of weeks. The companies were returning to work but the consumer safety guidance was non-existent. How were consumers going to be confident in allowing work to take place in their homes?

The GGF, as the glass, glazing and fenestration sectors’ main trade body, had to act quickly. They had to produce a consumer guide, one that was truly meaningful and aligned with Government guidance. The objective was to create a GGF Safe Guide that could assure consumers that their safety was top priority when home improvement is carried out at their property.

Within just five working days, our Lead Creative completed “The Safe Guide for Homeowners – employing a glazing company to improve your home during the COVID-19 crisis”.

It features eight fully designed pages, pin sharp images and punchy consumer-friendly copy communicating the key guidance for homeowners employing a home improvement company during COVID-19.

This vital piece of documentation was also teamed with our heightened, direct ‘keeping in touch / next steps’ messaging across email and social media.

The Results

Since being uploaded, the GGF Safe Guide has been downloaded and used by thousands of companies in the industry who now have an essential business tool that not only helps them comply with Government Guidance, but also assures their customers that work at their home will be done safely.
